Alloy wheels are made of an alloy of aluminum, magnesium or both. Lighter than steel, alloy wheels offer some advantages:
- Quicker acceleration and stopping
- Less strain on suspension components, like shocks and struts
- Better at keeping brake elements cooler
- Easier to form into complex styles
Still, steel wheels have their place.
- They're less expensive
- They're easier to repair if damaged
Both will work fine. It's a matter of taste and budget that you choose.
