Oil Changeabout Oil Change

Regular oil changes are vital to the long-term life of your vehicle's engine. Service includes new oil filter, up to 5 quarts of quality motor oil, chassis lube (where applicable), check of fluids and preventive maintenance analysis.

Motor oil lubes the moving parts of your engine, reducing friction and heat. Over time, your car’s oil picks up dirt and debris, and becomes less effective at keeping things running smoothly.

During an Oil Change service, the old, dirty oil is removed and safely disposed, and new, fresh oil is added. That’s why an oil change is one of the most important things you can do to ensure your vehicle is operating at peak performance. Proper adherence to your vehicle’s recommended oil change maintenance schedule will save you money and unnecessary repairs over time.

Most vehicles need an oil change every 3,000–5,000 miles, but depending on how and where you drive, your oil can go bad early. If you notice any of the following issues, it’s time to get an oil change:

  • The Check Engine or Oil Change light is illuminated
  • You hear a knocking sound or other unusual sounds coming from the engine
  • Your oil looks very dark and dirty when you check it
  • You aren’t getting your usual gas mileage
  • Your engine overheats
  • You see oil leaking beneath your vehicle

These are all signs that your vehicle may need fresh oil. Visit your nearest Big O Tires store, and we’ll let you know which type of oil your vehicle manufacturer recommends. Our Oil Change service is fast, comprehensive and one of the most important and budget-friendly maintenance items you can do to help your engine run smoothly, and go the distance.Read Less

Air Filter Changeabout Air Filter Change

A new air filter gives you more power, better mileage and longer engine life. Big O Tires will examine your air filter and let you know if it needs changing. Service includes visual inspection and replacement of air filter as necessary.

Your engine air filter is responsible for keeping dirt, debris and other contaminants out of the engine. This allows the engine to “breathe” and perform at its best. Over time, the engine air filter can become dirty, damaged or clogged. When this happens, your engine has to work harder to operate, and this can lead to reduced fuel efficiency and premature engine wear.

Most vehicles need a new engine air filter every 12–18 months or 10,000–15,000 miles, but you should always refer to your vehicle manufacturer’s recommendation.

If you’ve noticed a decrease in your engine’s performance, power or acceleration, you may need a new engine air filter. Visit your nearest Big O Tires store today, and we’ll let you know where your current air filter stands and install a new filter if needed.Read Less

Cabin Filter Changeabout Cabin Filter Change

The cabin air filter keeps dust, exhaust and pollen from getting into the cabin of the car. It protects you and your passengers by keeping the air you breathe clean. Service includes inspection of cabin filter and replacement as necessary.

Over time, the cabin air filter gets clogged with the dirt it captures. This makes the heating and cooling system work harder, and of course, means you're breathing more of the bad stuff. Reduce allergens in your car and keep the cabin smelling fresh by changing your cabin filter as recommended (every 12,000–30,000 miles for most vehicles).

Not sure if you need a new cabin air filter? Here are the signs of a bad cabin air filter:

  • You feel low air flow from the AC vents
  • You notice musty or unpleasant smells in the cabin
  • You see debris shooting out from the AC vents
  • You hear strange noises coming from the AC vents
  • Your AC and heater aren’t working as well

If you’re experiencing any of these issues, a fresh, clean cabin air filter might be all you need. Visit your nearest Big O Tires, and we’ll check out the health of your current air filter and replace it if needed.Read Less

Fuel Filter Changeabout Fuel Filter Change

Fuel filters keep grit, rust, and gunk that may be in the fuel from getting into your fuel injectors or carburetor. Replace old filters to restore power and performance and protect vital engine parts. Service includes inspection and replacement of filter as necessary.

When fuel filters get too dirty and clogged, they restrict the flow of fuel that gets to your engine. If the filter is only partly clogged, the engine may work but not hold power up hills or at higher speeds. A really dirty fuel filter can choke off fuel and stall your engine.

Symptoms of bad or dirty fuel filter include:

  • Your engine is slow to start
  • You’re getting lower gas mileage than usual
  • Your engine is idling roughly or misfiring
  • You hear loud noises coming from the fuel pump
  • Your engine is stalling

All of these are potential signs that it’s time to change your fuel filter. Visit your nearest Big O Tires, and our experts will inspect your existing fuel filter and install a new filter if needed.Read Less
